This is the third time I've been back to this city and I love it. I would honestly live there if I could. There is so much to see and do, a lot to offer in terms of tourist attraction, not to mention the array of shops they have there (my favourite part... the Topshop is amazing). There are so many restaurants and bars, offering pleasure for any given interest. There is SO much history to it, showing the heritage and how the country has evolved. If you've never been, what is wrong with you?! I only went for the day this summer, but thought I'd take you along with me. Breathtaking Views and much to doThe city itself is so beautiful. There is so much to look at, so much history to see even merely from it's buildings. If you want to learn about Britain, head to the Royal Britannia and see the how the Queen travelled on sea throughout her years of reign. Shopaholic like me? You're spoilt for choice. There are luxurious brands such as Karen Millen or Jack Wills or head to Jenners and Harvey Nichols for clothes and accessories to expensive for to me to even touch. Love food? I would without a doubt recommend the Hard Rock Cafe (one of my favourite food places) as it's quirky and different, with a real focus on the history of music, specifically rock n' roll. Prosecco and Afternoon Tea - The DomeWow oh wow, The Dome is breathtaking. If you like taking pics, this particular place is extremely photo worthy... just LOOK at the chandelier. The Dome itself looked and felt extremely posh. I made an effort to eat properly, no elbows on the table, so on and so forth because of how prestige the place was. Whilst initially it felt uncomfortable feeling a bit unworthy to be sitting there, the afternoon tea made it more than worth it. It was so divine. We had fruit scones, cheese scones, salted caramel, salmon, beef and egg sandwiches, carrot cake, macaroons and much more. There was something for everyone. We decided to have some prosecco with our food (which I can do now because I'm 18, hip hip hooray) which I would definitely recommend, why not go all out? You're in Edinburgh after all. The coffee and tea are always refilled if you run out and the service was immaculate as we heard the waitress go through what came with our afternoon tea. After this, we headed to a hotel bar for some drinks. I had selected a raspberry martini. Strong, but very tasty then at 6 we hopped back on the bus and headed home. The day was not long enough, I needed a week in Edinburgh (or preferably my whole life!).

It's been SUCH a hectic past few weeks. I feel as though since I've went on holiday, I haven't stopped. I went to Zante, as you know and then it was my 18th birthday which I celebrated properly on the Saturday. It was pleasant and I was surrounded by my favourite people. I wanted to create this post to show you my dress, makeup and all the other antics that took place, a very eventful night. Birthday Antics (and lil me in the background)Before I get on to anything else I have to talk about my dress. WOW. I couldn't of been happier with it if I tried, it was so amazing! I love how sparkly it was and when you moved it changed from green to blue. It was the perfect glamorous party dress to celebrate my 18th in. I got it from the ever so trusty Pretty Little Thing and it was £35 so a decent price for a special occasion. They have very similar dresses in different colours, but green is forever my colour. I matched my dress with a gorgeous black velvet choker and my sparkly heels as shown above. They were so gorgeous and matched my dress perfect. They were from Kurt Geiger, but were rather expensive at £130. It was my 18th so I'm allowed OK. The night was very pleasant, I was surrounded by my family and friends (minus a few who couldn't make or came later on). We ended up going to town and I had booked a table at a place at Condukt. I was disappointed though if I'm honest because I was meant to get some sparkles which they didn't provide even after asking and for paying £50 the table didn't fit more than 4 people on it, put it this way I won't be going back there very often if at all. I think next year I'll for certain be heading back to my favourite place which is Florita's in Newcastle. Crazy Balloons & Mac MakeoverI did have the typical 18 balloons by unfortunately the 8 blew away which wasn't a good start to the celebrations, I was so gutted. Nevertheless I did get a photo with them, despite not being the best quality. They were from the card factory at £7.99 each, quite expensive but it would of been worth it if the 8 hadn't left me early. Not cool. I've added a photo of my face because I had my makeup done. It was £40 at Mac and worth every penny. I absolutely loved it and it lasted me ALL night, it was everything I had hoped for and more. On my lips I had went for the ever so popular Velvet Teddy which I bought whilst I could. I had bought some false lashes because why not? it was my 18th! We went for a smokey eye as well because I wanted the full glam makeover and the makeup artist, Sophia certainly didn't disappoint. Well I'm officially 18 and an adult now, meaning all the important parts of this year are over. Whilst my clubbing experience disappointed me, I did have fun before hand and that's all that matters surrounded by the best people. Not to mention how perfect my dress and makeup was! I hope you all enjoyed a catch up of what I've been up to this summer so far. If you are at school, sixth form or uni... how is your loooong holiday so far?
Happy Saturday lovelies! Right now I'm probably getting both nervous and rushed as today is part 2 of my 18th birthday celebrations. If you didn't already know, I did indeed turn 18 on the 24th July. I'll be honest with you, being an adult is no different to being a teenager. I don't feel any different. Except from when I had to answer the door to work men and show them what needed to be done, I can't keep up with these responsibilities. Joking. But before all the birthday antics, I have to talk about one of the best holidays I have EVER been on. My first ever girls holiday to Zante. I wanted to show you some photos and videos of my time away, as well as a bit of advice having experienced being away without my parents. Yikes, I really am getting old, aren't I? A Bundle of FUNIf you have the opportunity to go on a girls holiday I recommend it MASSIVELY. It's certainly the best thing I've ever done and completely took me out my comfort zone, knowing I don't have my parents to fall back on. I'm not going to merely narrow down a girls holiday to 'going out drinking and partying every single day' because if that's not your thing, don't feel pressured to! Just as equally, going travelling would be absolutely amazing. When I'm a bit older, I would love to go travelling for a month. After all, it runs in the family. My Auntie went travelling around America and I remember how intrigued I was the first time she told me. I've been to America before and fell in love with it's culture, I would love to do what my Auntie did in the future. So if you're looking for inspiration, check out American road trips. Getting back to Zante. The first thing I have to emphasise is GO EXPLORE. I spent most of my day either sunbathing or sleeping off a hangover and I regret it so much. Not only is Zante party central, but it's one of the most beautiful islands. I am the type of girl to explore new destinations and I have an eye for pretty places, therefore I am gutted I didn't spend more time checking out more of Zante other than the strip. Nevertheless, the events were INSANE. Whilst Newcastle is known for it's nightlife I would struggle to find a place that would top Zante night life. We attended Pure Beach Club, the Paint Party at Rescue's and the Full Moon Party. All of which were an amazing, joyful experience. I couldn't pick and choose which were my favourite because all of them were very impressive. So much so, I would go back there again. I really felt I was living my teen years whilst I was away, care free and partying every single day. Yup. Every. Day. Drinks are cheap, but PLEASE be careful. More about that later. The music is chart music so easy to single along, but they also have old tunes which I was happy about because secretly, that kind of music is my favourite to dance along to. I stayed at the Ilios Aparthotel which was faultless, except for the fact I had to pay for a stained double sheet which initially I accepted knowing I had worn fake tan on my holiday, but then later realised me and my friend had two single beds. Be cautious because if you ask me, I think they were coning me out of my money there. It was always pleasant and sunny, the restaurants were cheap or dodgy at all. A place I would recommend is Balsamico which serves pasta, pizza, burgers, steak, fish food and much more. There was also a good selection of cocktails, ciders and wines. A second recommendation would be Cool Peppers, the restaurants by the beach all seemed amazing, but be prepared for promotion guys trying to get you to go eat in their restaurant. You'll get used to it. Advice from my ExperienceI must begin by warning you about the cheap and sometimes dangerous alcohol. Whilst it's exciting to be partying with no boundaries, safety is more important. The amount of people that were on the drip because of being spiked or drinking dangerous spirits was crazy. It happened to one of my friends and she explained that most of the A&E was filled with people on the drip. 1. DO NOT take drinks of anyone even if they seem like nice people, you don't know them 2. DO NOT pick up drinks left behind or from the bar 3. ALWAYS watch your drink or put your hand over your cup as anything could be slipped in it. Of course don't obsess over this as it will ruin your experience and night out, but always keep in mind to be cautious for your own safety. Next up, pick pockets. This is also huge. You will see a lot of people trying to sell you things on the strip, which makes people who are drunk quite vulnerable. Some of the people selling will distract you to try and take money from you. My advice is to wear something such as a bum bag and never take all your money out with you. Believe me, €30 will be absolutely fine for a night out. I also would say one of the best things I did was buy a safe for my room to securely lock in my passport, travel insurance details and the rest of my money. If you lose these things it would be an absolute disaster to say the least. Now I'm over the boring stuff, for me, I had no worries in Zante. The only thing that stressed me out was burning as I'm ginger, but thankfully my factor 50 served me well. A Memorable FIRST Girls HolidayI would absolutely recommend Zante, especially as a first girls holiday away. For me, it was safer, cleaner and better than I expected. The hotel we stayed at was immaculate and most of the hotels our other friends stayed at said the same. The strip was kept well, it didn't smell or look disgusting and the events were all professional, impressive and fun. Evidence of this is attending a pool party with Sigala as the DJ. Amazing right? There was so many amazing restaurants for any time of the day, so you don't go hungry. They even had a McDonald's, Subway and Frozen Yogurt ON the strip. I always looked forward to the end of a night out for some lovely food. If you're a party animal, you will honestly love Zante. If you like sight seeing, you will also love Zante. You can rent boats to go check out the island too! You also get free t-shirts, glow sticks and more extras from the events you take part in. Yes, I've kept my t-shirts. That's all from me! I missed Zante as soon as I landed back home and I haven't stopped missing it since, in a years to come I'll still be raving about one of the best holidays yet. Zante, you did me proud. Go check out night life in Zante, there is many videos on YouTube as well as clubs on Facebook. You can also check out what you can get up to throughout the day such as looking for Turtles, Waterparks, looking at the gorgeous view of the island and so much more. What was your first holiday like? Let me know!
Good evening lovelies and HAPPY Tuesday, I'm currently extatic at the fact I don't go back to sixth form until tomorrow, but also nervous because I know as soon as I step foot in that school it will be CONSTANT work and studying for the next five months. I swear A-levels could kill you. Enough of that though, I'm here to preach about my New Year's Resolutions (something which I felt I stuck by well in 2016) without further adue, let's see what I would like 2017 to bring. Beginning 2017 with a dash of pink.I was thinking about how to go about this and have finally decided I will do a series of bullet points with a bit of writing to follow explaining what I wish to achieve this year, which for me is pretty important and life changing year all because I'll be an adult this year. Yeah you heard me, the BIG 1 8 (eighteen). I don't know if that terrifies me or excites me if I'm honest.
Tropical Vibes and Confidence BoosterI feel like these next few resolutions are more to do with self-improvement, health and well-being which I feel I have neglected this year. Considering I haven't exercised since Feburary of 2016 is pretty shocking. It's not about what size I am because that doesn't really concern me, It's more about improving my body. We all know how GOOD exercise is for you. I've found myself feeling quite tired and lazy a lot in 2016 and I want to improve that this year.
Seven new years resolutions, all pretty doable. I think that the three most important things for me this year is: Getting into University, more self confidence (and self worth) and having fun. Perhaps in a couple years time, traveling will hopefully be on my list of New Year's resolutions. Fingers crossed anyways. It's so surreal that doing this next year, in 2018, I'll be an adult and at University. That just doesn't feel real to me. WHAAT. What are your New Year's resolutions this year and do you think you'll stick to them?
Until next time, Em x Hey lovelies! My blog post today is inspired by the happiness planner, a site which I came across I'm PRETTY sure all thanks to Zoella. They have been sending me these really inspiring daily emails, for a bit of a confidence boost and eye opener to life. Recently their email daily updates gave me a series of questions to consider, so I thought why not answer them on this blog post - enjoy x If not now, then when?1. What would you do if nobody would judge you? ANSWER: I think that a lot of people would be closer to what they want to do if they weren't to be judged. Do't forget that some of the most amazing/successful people have been picked on and judged becuase of what they do. I would love to have more confidence in myself, but my constant worry is usually what others are thinking of me and how they percieve me - I definitely think that modern society is becoming more accepting of differences. 2. Have you done something worth remebering lately? ANSWER: Most definitely my university interview, I was astonished in the way in which I dealt with it. I thought I would be nervous and have a literal breakdown, but I was confident and calm and did it well. Hard work pays off! 3. Time or money? ANSWER: Obviously time allows you to create more memories and in many ways could mean spending more moments with loved ones and family. Alternatively, money allows you to spend it on others and create a stable life for yourself, allowing for so many opportunites such as travelling or living in Paris and so on. You can give to less fortunate too. In the end, I think I would pick time. 4. In 20 years from now, what do you want to remember? ANSWER: Seeing as I'm only 17, just the happy memories and fun times I've created being a teenager such as going out with friends or being with your family. 5. What is something you've always wanted to do since you were a kid? ANSWER: Since I went to Florida when I was SUPER young, I've always wanted to live in America. As I've grown up, the UK I think is the only place I want to live, but moving to America for 2-3 years would be such an experience still. 6. When did you first realise life was short? ANSWER: I've been fortunate not to have anything tremendously tragic happen in my life, I have had upsetting losses when I was much younger. I think I've always realised life is short when I spend a lot of time with my family and realise moreover what/who is important. 7. Are you proud of what you are doing or what you have done? ANSWER: Creating my blog has unintentionally lead me to places I didn't think I would be even a year ago. Thanks to partly my blog, I've had Uni offers into my desired course and couldn't be happier. My blog has helped me to understand what I'm passionate aboout and express it through my writing. 8. In one year today, how do you want to be different? ANSWER: This ones easy for me. I want to be much more confident and doing things I love, I definitely hope to mature even more in years time and going places which will bring me a step closer to what I want to be doing with the life. I also want to experience more of the world, which possibly a goal for couple of years time, as opposed to one year. 9. Are you doing what you believe in or settling for what you are doing? ANSWER: I'm definitely beginning to do what I believe in and personally to me, it makes no logical sense to settle for anything less than you desire. What's stopping you from your what you enjoy? Honestly, no one but yourself. 10. What do you absolutely love in life? ANSWER: Having a huge, caring family. My mum would and does go over and above for me and my dad makes me laugh literally every single day. I have the most amazing, funniest friends, some I've known since I was born. I also live in a humble and safe villiage. Basically don't take life for granted and don't forget to praise what you've got! 11. What do you admire most in the world? ANSWER: 100% those who care for others and make this world more of a caring and sane place. I'm so interested in diveristy and acceptance in modern day society, anyone who can make an influential and positive change on society is admirable to me. 12. In order of importance, how would you rank happiness, money, love, wealth and fame? ANSWER: My list would alter massively and become; Happiness, health, love, money and then finally fame. 13. Can you think of one thing that didn't last forever, but was still worthwhile? ANSWER: Of course past relationships with people I am no longer in contact with or speak to because it allows you grow and mature as a person. It also makes you realise, sometimes just because you care about a person, doesn't mean you have to be close any longer. 14. In one word, how would you spend the last month of your life? ANSWER: Happily. No boundaries, no worries. I would do things that made me utterly content. I would spend it with my closest friends and my family and would perhaps find a way to travel to the places I've always wanted to go to. 15. What do you need to let go of? ANSWER: I think sometimes it's hard to let go of people you love and care about, but if they no longer make you happy, then they shouldn't be in your life a moment longer. I think you can definitely out-grow people and that's perhaps when you know you should let go. 16. What do you want to be known for? ANSWER: I would love to be known for making a positive impact on the world and humanity. Like I said, diveristy is my interest and I have high hopes that the course Fashion Communication will leave me with the essential skills I need that will allow me to leave such an impact. I think everyone has their own way of providing a sense of hope or positive act for humanity on the rest of the world. And that marks the end of that email. I LOVE the Happiness Planner and I think it's a wonderful idea to send out daily emails to make you stop and think about life and what you intend to make of your future, even in the busiest of days it takes all of two minutes to read. I would recommend checking them out and giving your email for the notifications and daily updates. Moreover, they have some amazing products for sale, such as the 50 day happiness planner or journals or stationary, etc. Good for the new year too!
Until next time, Em x I approach this blog post with a very VERY large smile. Today is the day I recieved my final and first choice offer for Fashion Communication at Northumbria University! The run up to my interview was extremely nerve-racking, especially for myself because I'm the QUEEN of stress, therefore I wanted to create this blog posts in the hopes that I can in some way reassure or comfort anyone with University interviews, espeically for a similar/the same course. The Unnecessary StressI got on the 14:55 bus as planned, as the journey into Newcastle City Centre takes around half an hour via this particular transport and my parents were supposed to be working past 4 so couldn't come with me for that vital moral support. Fortunately enough though, my mum managed to rush to the bus stop and join me in what promised to be a stressful journey full of short breaths, a tight chest, a pounding heartbeat and a SUPER twisted stomach. The bus unconveniently decided to change drivers half way, which sent me into full on panic mode, all I could think was, "Oh my gosh, I'm going to be late." Pleasingly I raced through the doors at 15:55 to meet three other lovely girls after checking my name in. I sat down, all of us looking nervous, but we all managed to spark up a conversation between one and other which sort of eased how stressed I had originally felt. Shortly after we were called into a comofrtable sized room, where there was myself, the other girls, two second year students (who were so welcoming - which again relaxed me fully) and of course one of the lecturers. We went in order of names, being Wilkinson, I was last. I anxiously listened to the other girls AMAZING moodboards, but I felt sort of disheartened by how much experience they seemed to have. Next up, me. TIP: If it's a digital presentation you have been asked to create for a course, save it as a PDF and PPT - as well as on a memory stick, just to be safe. Pinterest Lovin'I added in my Pinterest moodboard becuase it's relevant to what I spoke about. I decided to choose a Digital PowerPoint format, so I could structure my ideas better (basically I'm not one who can simply wing presenting things). My first slide was "Fashion and Diveristy" as it's one of my main interests, I'm into gender equality and I'm a keen follower of the heforshe campaign, I also spoke about fashion campaigns who condone on diversity and the acceptance of modern day society. My next two slides were on "Brands and who Inspire me" followed by "Fashion, blogging and Coursework". I think my coursework and blog was quite a strong aspect to my presentation as it showed what I had done in my spare time and moreover proved my genuine interest in what was related to the course itself. Honestly, it was really nice and informal. I am the worst person in terms of stressing out, (I get worried about everything) but I felt totally at ease and confident when speaking about everything on my visual CV. After that the second year students showed us around the facilites, which got me super excited and ready to jump into action (although it's not until next Setpember). The whole process took about an hour, merely because there were only five of us. I left feeling I did the best I could and had approached it in a way that made myself super proud, any type of public speaking gives me CHILLS, but it's something I'm determined to get used to. DO WHAT YOU LOVE.My confidence isn't very high, shall we say, so I really wasn't sure how it had went. Reluctantly they had offered me a conditional offer and place for September 2017, which reduced me to tears. I literally rang my parents I was that excited because I knew how hard I had worked for this and more importantly, how desperately I wanted to be on this course. For me, I allowed myself to feel more confident thorugh practising and practicsing again - which obviously payed off! To calm myself down on the day, I spent my time getting ready and watching Zoella as she inspires me the most. I also save motivational speeches from YouTube because they keep you on edge and reinforce/remind you of the potential you have. I guess in a way these methods restored faith in myself. The night before I listened to the ever so promising Headspace which is a 10 part relaxation app that totally destresses my mind (most definitely needed the night before). It's only for 10 minutes of your day and it's definitely worthwhile - espeically if you have a busy life and need a break from the world. Ultimately everything I've worked for towards this rewarded me my place in my hometown, Newcaslte, somewhere I want to be (I'm just too in love with the city) my insurance choice will be Nottingham, but I know I'll want to work hard to meet the grade requirements of Northumbria. If you're like me and share the same interests as me, I would definitely recommend a course such as Fashion Communication. Courses similar would be; Fashion Design, Fashion Marketing, International Fashion Promotion, Buying and Marketing and so on. SO MUCH CHOICE. I just knew Fashion Communication was the course for me. One final thing from me, any of you lovelies applying for Uni like me, I hope you get all your offers for your desired course!
Until next time, Em x So today I may or may not be powering through a hangover (hmm I wouldn't say a hangover at all, just immense tiredness as the day goes on) whilst slowly preparing myself for just a four hour shift tonight. Nevertheless, I'm now sitting here with a cup of coffee to maintain decent energy levels and to create my rather exciting blog post of London and what I got up to! That being said, enjoy. Changing of the Guards (or not...)I went away to London for the weekend from the 7th to the 9th of October. My trip to the city consisted mainly of shopping (what do you expect), but I managed to free up a couple of hours to do some sightseeing of some of the most iconic and historical features London has to offer. One of the main popularities of the city is, of course, Buckingham Palace. The photo above shows the gorgeous, royal detailed gates to guard the palace. We had intended to go to Buckingham Palace to watch the change of guards and after half an hour, two police men on the other side of the gates walked up and down letting us all know that there would be no change of guards until Tuesday. We did get to see the guards move about and march up and down the palace, besides that it was lovely to see the palace in all its glory (and the British flag was up, therefore the queen was in the palace!) We also ventured down the road to the Marble Arch and became knowledgeable on the history of Britain whilst being able to see a fantastic view of London from the top of the beautiful building. Sight-seeing from the Marble ArchI felt highly intellectual, having studied the Victorian Era for Literature proving the time to show an industrial revolution, as I walked past the monuments seeing Queen Victoria herself as a statue on the monument placed opposite Buckingham Palace itself. Don't worry though, I won't bore you with going into the history of Britain, thats not my blog genre, I know you're all waiting for the clothes and makeup I got (more to come on that...). Unfortunately I wasn't able to go see all the others places I was intending to such as Big Ben or Westminster Abbey and so on. The list is ENDLESS. Victoria Secret and Much, Much More...It mustn't come as much of a shock to you all that I spent hours and hours on end in Victoria Secret and by the end of it all, I only came out with ONE thing! I had my heart set that I would have purchased at least four or five things (knowing me). I think there was so much choice, it's so hard to only pick a few. Perhaps I wanted everything I saw, so made a quick escape with one jumper I was in love with. It's not like I need any more jumpers or anything (I have a drawer dedicated to them). Victoria Secret, of course, is everything you would expect. Although I've been to the Florida Victoria Secret's, usually just outlets. This one was super impressive, with so many floors and so many amazing products. I loved the layout as you walked in, which you can see in the above photo, straight away I noticed the Chanel and Vogue books stacked underneath the mannequin. If you're looking for sports gear, then there was a section dedicated to it on the first floor. If you're not interested in trailing around looking at pretty bra's only and unsurprisingly to find they're £50 (like me, couldn't bring myself to purchase for £50) go to the ground floor to Pink, Pink is why I love Victoria Secret. It's filled with hoodies, cosy jumpers or trackies and I must of tried on half of the section. Besides Victoria Secret, I spent most my time in the usual shops such as Topshop, Zara and I also found a Pull and Bear and purchased the cutest pastel pink and white striped jumper. So cosy and only £9.99. If you check out my Buckingham Palace selfie with my Auntie you will see my wearing it! I also went to Selfridges and spent HOURS looking at makeup (I got a new foundation, which was actually featured in my last blog post) and I checked out all the expensive clothing brands; Valentino, BALMAIN, Stella McCartney and so on. London, to state the obvious, is the best place to shop till your drop. Literally. The CUTEST Cupcake CafeOn the Saturday, before heading on the Underground to spend a few hours sight-seeing, we stopped at this cute little cafe. As you walked in, it was decorated so eloquently (I'm a sucker for carefully crafted and pretty places). I loved the pink and white setting, which actually reminds me of baking at home with my mum or Auntie. Coincidence? There were Oreo Cupcakes, classic chocolate cupcakes and vanilla, cookie monster cupcakes and many more. I also had the best cup of coffee ever at this place and my Auntie agreed with her cup of tea. I've never tasted anything so good in my life. We sat in here reading all the cute and uplifting quotes (such as always be yourself, everyone else is taken and so on). I could of sat in here for hours, but we had to get on with the day. We had a six o'clock meal set and then went to the Theatre to see Wicked. I had such good seats and the show was absolutely amazing. If you're in London, I highly recommend going to see it. If you haven't seen the Lion King live (which I have, hence why I didn't see it this time) I would select that show as priority. It was an absolute show stopper. Christmas is Coming!Last, but not least we obviously Visited Harrods. I also spent hours in here looking around. I loved the chocolate factory especially, as it reminded me of something out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. A very impressive layout. But the place which filled me with happiness was of course the Christmas section. When I was born my mum bought me a 1999 teddy bear from Harrods and since then, this is the first time i've been back in Harrods without her. I felt it was only right to get a 2016 Harrods Christmas bear, I guess it was sentimental to my in a way. Absolutely no regrets buying it! I love that the floor had different types of decorations, depending on your preferences. If you're into gold decorations, they had a section for you, if you enjoy the classic red, there was plenty of that available or even white decorations could be bought. I had also bought my mum a London telephone box decoration and was so tempted to get some pretty rose gold lights for my room, but refrained because I'd end up going Christmas MAD with decorations (yup, I am that kind of gal). Although Harrods is a bit of a mission to get through and find all the right floors, it's amazing to look around. I was in there for hours and was constantly looking around at how amazing the store was. oh how I wish I could be back. A Beautiful City Full of Hustle and BustleThat's all form me today! Have you been anywhere interesting over the past couple of months? Unsurprisingly, I fell in love with London. I could definitely see myself living there one day (although I love my hometown!) I hope you've enjoyed, until next time x
Evening, all! So last week, you may have known that I was in Edinburgh. Today I thought I would give you a quick little life update on what I got up to when I was over there. Edinburgh is such a beautiful place and at one point I was seriously considering taking a look at their University in the near future. Yes, it's my last year of sixth form, how am I nearly an adult already? Funny that my next birthday will be my 18th and I'm sitting here re-watching Zoella Vlogmas in September getting myself way too excited (I'm a child at heart). Enjoy x SightseeingVery unsurprisingly, Edinburgh is an absolutely breaking place. As soon as we got there, I constantly had my phone out taking pictures of everything I saw (because I like to photograph everything that looks pretty and obviously, everything looks pretty in Edinburgh). We did many things whilst we were there, of course shopping was top of the list for me, until I got to look around some super interesting, historical places and they for sure made shopping a lot less time consuming (WHAT an accomplishment for me). Walking through Edinburgh park, on the only sunny day there was whilst we were there, we came across some pretty little settings such as the golden statue with a little snippet of the castle we ventured up to. The 1916-2016 mark of the Centenary and a lovely photo of the most glam, expensive hotel I have saw in Edinburgh. All in all, Edinburgh is such a quaint little city, full of plenty things to see and many historical elements. If you're considering going, I would definitely recommend such an amazing place. THE ULTIMATE Go To Restaurant: Hard Rock Cafe!I absolutely love Hard Rock Cafe and if you've been reading my blog for long enough, you should know that it became one of my all time favourite restaurants from venturing there when I went to Florida. My dad decided to go ALL OUT with the starter, and we got a selection of all of the starters available on the menu. My favourite, surprisingly, was the Barbecue ribs. For me, I've never cared to try Barbecue sauce, but now I've had the ribs, I am obsessed with the sauce (perhaps not as much as ketchup, nothing can really top off ketchup). For my main course, I had the The Big Cheeseburger (I think) which came with a massive pot of chips and my favourite garlic source, which I ensured was all gone. My mum had the same and I'm not 100% sure what my dad had, I wasn't paying enough attention. The selection of drinks was immaculate, the cocktails were so pretty and the Electric Blue cocktail was certainly the most appealing. Unfortunately, I really couldn't stomach the desserts menu, but perhaps next time I will give the starter a miss and make some room for the promising, mouth watering desserts. The Edinburgh Castle! In all honesty, as historical as it was, I was slightly disappointed in Edinburgh castle. There was so much to learn about Scottish war and it's past, which was truly intriguing. The only thing really found out about the Royal's was where they were born and where they stayed. For me, my favourite day was the Royal Yacht Britannia. It was truly amazing. The setup was original and true to how it used to be when the queen sailed the ship. You got to view where she slept, where guests ate, where she attended some quiet time to read books and so on, but you also got to see where they cooked, the officers rooms and all other crew members beds. There was placements of tokens the queen was given as a gift from those who were invited on board too! It was very educational for me, as I've genuinely never heard about the Royal Yacht Britannia, possibly because it was slightly before my time. Moreover, in Edinburgh there was a wide selection of places to eat especially on the Royal Yacht Britannia and the impressive thing about the castle was the variation of cakes, lunch and other mouth watering fancies to purchase. All in all, Edinburgh kept me entertained with so much to do the whole time I was away (something I love in a holiday) I definitely wouldn't hesitate going again and staying a bit longer next time. The City of Edinburgh...That's all from me today, loves! Hope you're having a lovely day. Sadly, I'm back at sixth form tomorrow for my FINAL YEAR. I'm super excited to finish sixth form and move on to University and a new chapter, meeting new people. If you're wanting to visit Edinburgh, I would most certainly recommend it and more so NOW at Christmas time because they have the most magical Christmas market which I've already wrote about on my blog before, hopefully I will be going back to this year. Until next time x
Hey loves. Sorry for being MIA recently, I celebrated my birthday on Friday night and as you can imagine, I wasn't awake until 12, all my friends were all still with me throughout the day and then on the night time we had a family gathering at my Auntie's until around 10pm. I then made the decision to start again with my blog today. Seeing as I was MIA with it, what better way to start again than talk about my Friday night? I hope you enjoy x OOTN Details...I'm genuinely excited to talk about my outfit. I purchased this outfit from Pretty Little Thing recently, among the whole hoard of other clothing I have been purchasing (meaning my wardrobe is absolutely full with nice, going out clothes and I still want MORE). I was looking for a tight, strapless, mini dress because it's something I feel I suit more as opposed to a long dress or a booby dress. I selected the colour burgundy because as you should all know by now, this is my ULTIMATE favourite colour. After shopping on thousands of different sites, some of which I've never heard of before, I finally found what I had been looking for. Funnily enough, although I was willing to pay up to £60, this dress was only £15 with free next day delivery and still available on the site. Oh how I love online shopping. I'll leave the link at the end of my blog post for you all. I had gotten a size 6 as I knew it was stretchy material and it fit me perfectly. Pretty Little Thing's clothing are most definitely true to size. As for shoes, I wore some simple black heels from Kurt Geiger to match my one colour sort of look. As you can tell, I absolutely love dark colours. The only accessory you see is my cute little bracelet from my best friend for my birthday which I wear non-stop now. For The Eyes...Now onto my favourite thing to speak about. Makeup. I will only go into details about my eye makeup because the amount of times I have spoke about the rest of my face in blog posts is... a lot. So I had actually got my eye makeup done at Nars in Debenhams, a fabulous place for quaint, pretty makeup looks. Judging on other makeup brands, purely because of the fact I love really dark, bold and striking makeup I prefer places such has Mac. Nevertheless, I absolutely loved what they came out with for my birthday celebrations. I also bought these two new shades to add to my eyeshadow collection because they are gorgeous and I feel, contrast well with my brown eyes and Auburn hair. For my eyes, she began with adding a primer and concealer to allow for a longer lasting eye makeup look. She then went in with a lighter shade which was very much white, sparkly tones which was added onto the base of my eyelid. She then went in with the two colours above and some brown shades along the crease and the out corner of my base, further adding and blending products depending on my liking. I felt that these two orange and peach shades worked wonderfully also with my deep red, burgundy dress. After the eyeshadow was complete, she finished off the look with a gel liner giving me a wonderful cat flick to my finish off my look. The eyeshadow duo you see above is £25 and is called 'Surabaya'. I used my trusty NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in the shade Vintage to match my dress. QUICK UPDATE!!!As most of you probably already know from my announcement on my Google+ account, I got my hands on my favourite dress from the Carlibybelxmissguided collection. Yes, I did sit for an hour clicking and refreshing the page to get this dress, but thats besides the point (I'm a big fan of her). This Faux Suede Eyelet Bodycon Dress was £35, which is an amazing price for such a carefully crafted, jaw-dropping dress. For me I think that this dress is too precious and would be perfect for occasion wear such as a wedding party or an elegant birthday meal, etc. I HAVE TO tell you that I had posted this on my Instagram page and reluctantly got a LIKE from Carli Bybel herself, it made my two hours left at work more enjoyable for sure. If I could have, I would have bought the whole collection and I very nearly also purchased the Mint Green everyday Ribbed Square Neck Bodycon Dress from the collection too. Everything was absolutely stunning and I'm so glad I grabbed my hands on at least one item. I may purchase something else in the restock this August, definitely be ready to purchase something gorgeous if you haven't already. Good luck, you'll need it. That's all from me! I hope you've enjoyed my blog post today. Again, sorry I've been MIA recently, It's not something I could help much. Summer can get pretty busy! Nevertheless, another blog post will be up on Saturday morning. Until next time x
